Jean Cavaillès (1903–1944) was a French logician and philosopher who taught in Paris and Strasbourg. He was imprisoned as a member of the French Resistance and was executed by the Gestapo on February 17, 1944.
Georges Canguilhem is Professor Emeritus at the Sorbonne and former director of the Institut d'Histoire des Sciences et des Techniques de l'Universit+¬ de Paris. His works include La Connaissance de la Vie, Ideology and Rationality in the History of the Life Sciences, and The Normal and the Pathological.
