Using Mixed Methods Research Synthesis for Literature Reviews is intended as a systematic, comprehensive approach on how to conduct a review of the literature in mixed methods research. Most books available to assist the reader in doing a literature review are directed at either quantitative or qualitative but  don’t really cover the practicality of how you would conduct a review of the mixed methods literature.

Mieke Heyvaert, Karin Hannes, and Patrick Onghena are skilled authors who provide an overview of the process, a step-by-step guide for conducting  mixed methods literature reviews, and will alert the reader to both the potential advantages, as well as the problems and pitfalls within each of the steps. Each chapter starts with an outline and ends with summary points, challenges, questions for thought, exercises, and suggestions for further reading that are carefully selected for more in-depth treatment, classroom discussions, and further elaboration. This is Volume 4 in the SAGE Mixed Methods Series
